British Heart Foundation: information

I want to look more closely into what the british heart foundation actually do. Who they support and take a look at people living with heart conditions. If i were to choose this option, i will have more knowledge on the issues surrounding the amazing charity.

Understanding Heart Conditions

If you or a loved one have been diagnosed with a heart problem, you may be feeling alarmed, overwhelmed or anxious about the future.
Sometimes, just knowing the facts can help you come to terms with it, so you can feel more in control.
Information about the heart can be complex. We've broken it down to help you find what you need.

This is on their website, this area of the website gives information on the types of heart conditions there are and how the heart works. Just reading the paragraph above has made me think about the emotions of having a heart condition can create. so maybe if i where to do my photos on this subject, looking closely into emotions and photographing these very simply creating a story of someone going through such a traumatic emotional rollercoaster.

Preventing Heart Disease

Prevention is better than cure, and by making small changes to your lifestyle you can reduce your risk of developing coronary heart disease.
Even if you’ve had a heart attack, or been diagnosed with coronary heart disease, you can help your heart to stay healthy and reduce your risk of further problems. Learn more about blood pressure, cholesterol and how reducing your weight and quitting smoking could save your life.

Blood Pressure
Cholesterol
Your Weight
Smoking
Diabetes
Family History
Stress
In my photos i could include one or more of these aspects, either creating a negative or positive image. For example create a story of the model smoking ( feeling and looking unhealthy), finding out they have heart conditions (because of smoking), going through the emotions, quitting smoking (looking and feeling a lot better), heathy again! This is just one idea.

Anette's life with a heart defect

Annette

When Anette Chapman was born she already had problems with her heart and needed an operation to fix it.

In 2008 she had a serious infection in her heart which required another operation.

Anette was born with congenital ventricular septel defect and aortic insufficiency.
In May 2008 she fell very ill with bacterial endocarditis. But after an operation and treatment she's now a full time mum and student, back to exercising and living a full life.

Anette says: "I have three wonderful young children who I will see grow up, and I enjoy life just a little more!"

She's managed to build a full and happy life.

"I am very determined to look at all the positives after my illness.

"It has taken some hard work, a few tears on and off and lots of determination to recover fully, but a year on from my illness I feel back to being me again.”

Anette says the BHF helped her feel less alone in her illness, with a wealth ofsupportknowledge and kindness on offer.
This is a story of just one lady out of 2.6 million living in the UK. I think it would be a good idea to create a story through imagery.
